Just lovely

I just saw these on A Little Sussy and had to share. Photographers Rene & Radka are fashion photographers who are pretty amazing, but this particular shoot with kids made my day. The colors are gorgeous and the expressions of the the kids are perfect.

This one is my absolute favorite. "The winds are really picking up out here in the city, Suzie!"

Just gorgeous.

"Get your own damn coffee."

"Gasp! Is that his evil twin brother possessed by the devil, who kidnapped his wife, and came back from the dead?!"

"This is how I roll."

Today is my last day of work for two weeks!! Truly one of the happiest Fridays in my life.

El Capitan

We got to see Bolt at the El Capitan. It was my first time experiencing the theater and it definitely made me feel like a kid again.

While waiting for the show to begin, Rob Richards plays the pipe organ. Apparently he makes  a boatload of money  for doing this. Must be nice.

Every movie begins with a live show. Confession: I let out an audible squeal every time I see any Disney character shake their groove thing. It's an uncontrollable instinctive response. This happens in every live-show context. Disneyland parades, broadway shows, whatever. They shake, I squeal.

What didn't make me feel like a kid were the other kids in the audience. I did not realize that children like to talk through entire movies. The entire movie. There was not a single moment of silence for the full 90 minutes. Since I was on their turf, I kept the dirty looks to myself. Watching the show for free also helped calm my nerves.

I really, really liked this movie. But that's because I'm a huge ball of cheese.

Happy Birthday, MOH!!!

To my dear MOH,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Have a great day!!

We celebrated MOH with a dinner at Pastis. I loved the ambiance and French owner at Pastis, but the food wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. However, the french fries were oh so good.

We then hit up the Pantages to see Wicked. All of the girl except Cheesy had seen it, but it's worth seeing a second time.

I hadn't seen it since the first time it came to LA, before this way-too-long run. I noticed a bit more ad-lib action. Eden Espinosa was impressive but Megan Hilty wasn't as good as I wanted her to be. Mainly because I'm in love with Kristin Chenoweth.

Dinner and a show. We all agreed that this was one of the most "grown-up" birthday celebrations any of us had ever had. So bittersweet. Adieu, sweet youth. Bonjour, life crisis.

Le Cordon Bleu

*Exhale* Finally with reliable internet and enough time to post! Everything has been great in le shoebox. We're all moved in and have been living here since Thanksgiving. We're still missing a lot of furniture but the couch, tv, and mattress on the floor has been serving us just fine. Will post pictures once everything is set up. Give me about a year or so.

A long, long while ago, Gun Boy invited us to visit him at Le Cordon Bleu, where he is in the hospitality program. His class was having a dinner to celebrate the end of their first cooking class and everyone invited their friends and family to taste their handiwork.

Gun Boy's crowd made up about half of the entire party there.

There was so much food that I was forced to have seconds. And then thirds.

Gun Boy's instructor had the best French accent. Made my meal 10x better.

and pots galore!

Thanks, GB! Can't wait to see your blog when it goes live.
